Another way of starting a project with me is by inviting me to work via my 99designs profile. In this case, an additional 5% fee is charged by 99designs.

How can I make a payment?

When working directly with me, I accept payments only via PayPal.

When working through 99designs as an intermediary, there are multiple payment methods.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, when working directly with me, I require a 50% deposit before starting to work on your cover. The project officially starts when the first half of the payment is received.

When working through 99designs as an intermediary, the full payment is made through 99designs and held by the platform until the project is completed. After the project is finished, the money will be released to me, and the copyrights of the book cover design will go from me to you.

What genres do you work with?

I work with a wide range of genres, including fantasy, romance, thriller, science fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction, and more.

What’s the turnaround time for cover design?

It takes an average of two to four weeks to complete the project. It all depends on your needs and the number of revisions. You will receive the first proposal in two weeks. If you are satisfied with the first proposal, then we are 2-3 days away from the completion of the project. If you want to change something, then I change it until you are 100% satisfied. The number of revisions is unlimited and they are not charged extra, but more revisions mean more time to finish the project. If something is urgent, it's important that you tell me in due time, and I will inform you if I can meet your request.

Do I really get unlimited revisions?

I will work on your cover until you are completely satisfied. If after a certain number of changes I estimate that no matter what I do, you are not satisfied, I will have no other choice but to conclude that I may not be the best choice for you.

What if I want to cancel the project?

You can always cancel the project. If you do not want to use my design, a full refund will be issued.

What if I know exactly what I want on the cover, but you don't think it's a good idea?

I will try to implement your idea as much as possible, but I have to stand behind my work, and if I think that something is not a good idea and that something can affect my reputation, I cannot do it. Keep in mind that it is in my best interest that you have a good and remarkable book cover design.

Can I provide an image that will be used on the cover of the book?

Yes, but under the condition that you have the copyright to use the image and that the image has the required quality (at least 300dpi at 6″x9″).

Can I use the previous drafts of my cover?

No, because the price includes only one final eBook cover. Also, if we are still in the design process and the purchase still hasn't been made, it also means you cannot use it. If you want to use the previous versions, you must purchase them first.

What if I want additional changes after the final files have been delivered?

In this case, there could be additional costs. The costs depend on the changes themselves.

What if I want to order a paperback design but still do not have all the information (such as final formatted page count, trim size, back cover text, etc.)?

If you do not have all the information I need for a paperback design, that’s fine. Instead of the print-ready paperback, you will get a digital paperback (on the Amazon KDP template). The purpose of the digital paperback is to see how the print paperback will look like, or you could use it for promotional purposes or to receive feedback. When you confirm your eBook design and digital paperback design, I will send you an invoice for the second half of the payment. When your payment arrives, I will send you the final files (eBook and digital paperback file) within two business days (including the same day I receive the payment). The next step is for you to provide me with all the necessary information required for finalizing the print file. I require the final trim size, blurb, final formatted page count and the type of paper you wish to use ( white or cream ). After that, I will adapt your digital paperback to a print-ready paperback for your selected printing platform, and I will send it to you within two business days without any additional costs.

Can I order Package 1 now and add a paperback later?

Yes, you can order Package 1 now and add paperback/hardcover/dust jacket later when your book is formatted and you have the final trim size, blurb, final formatted page count and the type of paper you wish to use ( white or cream ).

What if I want to change something on the paperback cover after I got the final print-ready file?

There could be additional costs. The costs depend on the changes themselves. If the changes are minimal ( like a typo in a blurb ), there won't be any additional costs.

Can I order Package 1 or Package 2 now and later order additional material for the same book?

Yes, of course. You can order additional files any time you want.

When I order additional material, do I get a new design?

Additional material is created based on the existing design of your cover. New designs are charged additionally and the price will depend on what you have in mind for a new design.

Are there any discounts for ordering multiple books at once?

I offer a discount if a client orders three or more book covers at the same time. A 10% discount will be applied on the total amount of the entire order for all my custom packages. The entire order also includes add-ons if they are a part of this particular order and done within the same time frame. If the client wants to schedule multiple cover designs, I will offer the dates for sending a design proposal for each one of the covers. All covers should be done in a time span according to the agreed deadline so the discount can be approved. After the client confirms the design of the first book, I will send the invoice for the second half of the payment for the first book. When the payment arrives, I will send the final files of the first book. If the ordered covers are a part of a series, it is important that the first book is confirmed before I start working on sequels. The payment process for the remaining covers is the same as for the first book.

Can I change the final files myself after you send them?

No. This is directly in violation of the licensing terms of stock images used in the design. When I purchase licenses for stock images that are used in a custom design, Emily's World of Design is legally the one licensed to manipulate the images - that is how stock licensing works. If you need additional changes to an approved design, contact me.

Are stock images included in the price?

Yes! I purchase images from Depositphotos.com - under the Standard License.

Do you use Ai when you are designing book covers?

No, I don't use AI when I am designing book covers or anything else.
